I figure if we can tell jokes and talk about duck stamps, it might be OK to post this here.......
I shot this buck with my bow the day after Thanksgiving 2012. I just got him back from my taxi last week . Before anyone asks, it took that long because Greg is that much in demand. I just had to show all my new friends here at OldGobbler!

Beautiful Deer! If you continue killing bucks with G3's that long, you're going to need a house with higher ceilings.
That's truly a beautiful deer. Congratulations.
Thanks,

He came in silent, but following two "hens". I was ready to shoot one of them because I wasn't planning to hunt that property again that season. But then one of the hens looked over her shoulder and when I saw what she was looking at, I waited for the buck to get into a position I could shoot.
By the way thanks to all for all the nice comments! :icon_thumright:
:icon_thumright: :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright: And with a bow as well. Good job, have you sent a shaft through a gobbler yet, or did I miss it.

Not yet. If I set my blind up this year I might take my bow and shotgun.

Coming from another Iowan...that deer was not killed in Iowa. My guess would be Texas, Ohio, or even Illinois...definitley not Iowa. We don't have big deer in Iowa. We don't have any deer in Iowa. Having lots of big deer in Iowa is a myth that has been told strictly to attract the attention of hunters to bring in more money from out of state hunters.
Great deer....Congrats!!
Remember...WE DON"T HAVE BIG DEER IN IOWA.

I've been figured out. I really shot that deer in Texas, no maybe it was Mississippi, I'm think'n it was Oklahoma. Ya know, I don't remember where I shot him. Because he's right - there are NO big deer in Iowa. ;D
nice one
good one, iowa right? :thanks:
