Title: public hunting in west virginia

Looking for any info on public hunting and bird numbers in west virginia. Thinking of trying here on Kentucky. any info helps..  thanks

I seen some turkeys while hunting deer two years ago on Nathaniel Mountain WMA

If your coming from Kentucky, McClintic WMA & Cheif Cornstalk would be two good places to try. They are in Mason County and both hold a good number of Turkeys.

What part of WV are you looking at hunting?  Are you in WV or coming from out of state?

Northern part of w. virginia would be good cause were coming from NY but if there is better hunting else where the drive would be worth it... you know the sickness i'm talking bout...dang turkeys anyways !!! thanks again for any input

My avatar pic is a gobbler a killed on the last day of the season last year in the last hour and came from public land. We have some turkeys here for sure.  And some of the most beautiful country to chase em in!

Yep, you'll find em in Lewis Wetzel. Just be on your toes while driving around, a lot of gas well traffic.
