Title: Chuck swan wma east tn
Post by: taylorjones20 on March 04, 2014, 09:12:05 PM
Hello everyone, I was just notified that I was drawn for chuck swan this turkey season. Anyone that live close to there or has ever had success there have any advice that you would be willing to share?

Which parts are better than others, etc?

Thanks in advance!

Are you close enough to scout, do have to quit hunting midday each day and can only kill one bird on hunt

No, I'm 6 hours away. But my party of 4 got drawn so we're gonna stay a couple of nights. Yes hunting ends at noon each day and only one bird per person but it is a bonus bird for the season.

It looks like we'll be going "blind" but that's part of the hunt lol

I live about an hour away driving by boat it would be about 5 minutes across Norris lake I've heard a lot about the place but never hunted it what I have heard is that it's hunted heavily lots of pressure and to be careful for other hunters. That could go for any public land.

I've take several birds there. I prefer the lower gate end. Prepair to get there very early to get in line and hunt a good piece from the road. Hear a gobble and 5 doors shut and engines fire up and head that way. But lots of birds there. When are you going?
