I shot my 870 with the 20" barrel yesterday. It's always shot the 3" mag-blends thru a tru-glo very well but I wanted to try the fed HW 7' s. Tried it through the ventilator, factory super full, and the tru-glo. I was not impressed to say the least. What's the best choke for that load ? I have a 665 jelly head that I didn't get to try. Just playin around a little but I'll still be shooting the mag-blends since I have a couple of boxes left.
Fed Heavyweight #7 like to be choked tight and with a non ported choke..I found the 650 constrition works best in my Remingtons.. I use the trulock choke made for the Fed heavyweights. Lee
Jamey,
Go to Butler and get one of the non ported Carlson chokes.....they are worth every penny.

Not really wanting to spend any more money on chokes. Just playin around with a box to see what they'll do. But thanks anyway. Did you get drawn for lazar ?
Rejected....that's ok, I am stock piling points so that I can do a couple of years worth of decent hunts. I have 7 points now.
My best pattern with 870 21" bbl and Fed HW was with a Hastings non ported .665. Sold it at one point and hunted it down and bought it back.
