Title: inst. a 336 mount
Post by: schief on March 01, 2014, 08:49:40 PM
i have a rem 870 that was drilled and tapped at factory. 4 screws in line. i want to install a 336 mount. i know that the 336 screws are bigger. how would the 336 holes line up on factory screw holes. want the lower 336 mount.

Don't quote since I don't have an 870 but im pretty sure it want fit. The 336 screw holes are half inch apart and use 8-40 screws

Brought up earlier today...look into a price fowler mount.   From what I can see it only will come with a guard for the 870 but will be a direct fit.  The company makes an optic similar to the fast fire.  I am not 100% sure of compatibility at this time since each one takes a different battery but definitely worth looking into.   You can get a mount/protector as 1 unit.

i just bought a new FFIII and a burris protector. don't know if fowler mount would work with it. what i was thinking i could retap one of factory holes to bigger screw and drill and tap the other.

Not familiar with that model but from what I remember their models have a bottom battery like the ff2.  They are different size batteries though...one a 2032 and the other a 1632.

That's a bummer! That looks like a perfect mount alternative to the 336.I wonder if the 1/8 spacer between the fowler mount and the ff would solve the battery issue?
