Do any of you handloaders on here have any tips or pointers for handloads? I've been handloading shotshell for a little while now and with spring on the way (I hope) I would love to harvest a bird with one of my own loads. I've loaded and patterned some #5's and they're just ok. Thanks in advance.
We use to have a hand load section, but due to certain factors not anymore. I wish we still had one, but just a FYI it's not something discussed on the forum.
I enjoy killing birds with my own handloads. One thing is for sure, I never have to worry about Lot #s and companies changing components.
Like darn2ten said, we can't give out any info. I'm not sure what you were wanting, as far as tips and pointers and I don't know where the "handloading line" is, but I can tell you to be safe. Get some of the loading manuals and start from there. Have your loads tested by a lab, shoot a piece of paper, and go kill a longbeard.
I'm sorry everyone. I didn't realize it was a no no. I wasn't looking for any load data obviously as I wouldn't use any data not published in a manual that's in my hands. Really just wanted to know if anyone had powder preferences or wad/hull preferences for turkey specific loads. Thanks for letting me know.
I like Blue Dot for my powder of choice for 12ga. The wad I like the waa12f114. what ounce are you trying to load. You can pm me if you want.
