My son has to make chalk for his class project , and I figured we'd get more out of it if we made chalk for turkey calls ;D.
I did a web search but came up empty.. Any of you fellas feel like sharing a recipe? PM me if you would like to keep it private.
Thanks
I don't know of anybody making their own chalk. I found a you tube video where someone mixed sea shells and HCl to form CaCl2 and water, then added baking soda to make chalk and salt water, and then filtered out the chalk. Not the sort of thing I'd want my students doing on their own, but here's the video anyway: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKqbMEy30XM
looks like it would have something to do with talcum powder and some kind of glue to hold it together.
