Title: Beretta/ Winchester Longbeards
Post by: Longshanks on February 25, 2014, 10:01:17 PM
Has anyone run the Win longbeards through a beretta. I have a Urika 3" and Xtrema 3"-3.5" and they run more open chokes .670. I have a few chokes that are all .670. Pure gold, kicks, hevi 13. Any thoughts or experience with these guns and LB's.?

We got a few 3 inch patterns out of 391 up in pattern section.   I did not think they built anything but a 391. lol

I see you ran 180's with a .665. I'm hoping these .670's won't be too open. That Hevi 13 choke shot pretty good patterns out of the xtrema with 3" xx Pb 6's. I'm hoping the 3.5 LB's might turn fairly good patterns out of that gun. Got some 3" 5's to try as well. Now if I can just get some time off from work to shoot. I had a JH .660 that I used to shoot nitro and awesome 3" lead patterns out of the xtrema. Made the mistake and sold it. May need to get you to turn me a .660.

Sumtoy, what are your thoughts about the gas ports on beretta barrels with respect to the resin in Win LB's. I just thought about that. I made need to back off shooting them through the berettas and shoot them through the 870's.

Now that is a good question! I have been wondering the same thing about the resin and the effects on gas operated autos.

I have not shot that many of them in the same gun to know.  Now I see not reason for it to stop them up.  I is in the wad and don't think it starts to brake up until it enters the choke.

That makes sense now, I  forgot about it being contained in the wad. Thanks William!

Thanks, that does make sense. Believe I will run the 3.5 LB's 6's through the xtrema/hevi 13 choke and see what it will do. I'm turning 230's with hevi 6's out of this gun but if there is a significant increase with the LB 6's I will hunt with them some.
