Title: shot a new magblend today
Post by: Rockhound on February 23, 2014, 07:55:18 PM
I shot 1 shell of this years 3-1/2 mag blend this evening.

It was around 60° and with an 8 year old gun that's never had the barrel cleaned (honestly)
And an Indian creek 675

10"-198

I'm gonna deep clean it and call it good

Awesome, I just wish I could have gotten them to shoot that good in my guns.

I say you are ready to kill.  I get 200 with the Hevi 3.5 6s in my 835 and 676 star dot.  My Mad max with 3.5 7s gets around 230 in it as well.  Good luck!

Donald as my witness I get my Tristar and 870 to shoot the 3" MBs (last years) to shoot WAY better than they should.  I get well over 200.

Your 3" 870 spits the MBs and 6s pretty dag um well also. Around 230 it I am not mistaken.

Best with MBs was 228 and best with 6s was right at 220.  They both held those high numbers for consecutive shots so it wasn't just a fluke.  I just HOPE I can get 75% of that with new shells.

3.5". I shot #6 with 169 which was plenty good enough. Didn't even count the mag blends.

870, SBE2, and M3500

SBE: IC .665 and Kicks GT .665

870:  Jellyhead 660, Remington .655, or HeviShot choke think it is 660 but maybe .665

Not sure about the Stoeger but a guess would be an IC, PG, or SumToy could set it up.

This is what I have heard or seen work. have experience with the 870 but not the SBE.

Also depends on when you bought the shells unfortunately. My pattern dropped 40% last year so that is when I said the heck with hevi shot. I buy older lots that people sell or I find in stores. When I cannot find anymore I will go to nitro.
