Title: Tru-Glo Gobble Stopper Xtreme .665
Post by: Crappiepro on February 22, 2014, 08:17:16 PM
I just got a used Mossberg 535 24" barrel and wanted to do alittle patterning and so I bought the Gobble Stopper Extreme choke in .665 for it. I shot about 8 different loads in 3" #5 and #6 shot. The air temp was about 50 or so degrees. I didnt get very good results at all with this choke/gun. I got the best pattern's with the Rem Premier Magnum #5 and #6 shots and the Win High Velosity #5 3" and the shot counts were still pretty low. I was shooting at 37yrds or so. Do you think a warmer day will make better patterns? I'm not real sure about the choke so far.

Brad,

I have not heard those are the best chokes. If it were me, I would get a Primos Jellyhead .660, and see what it will do.
I had my best patterns from that combo.

Well I couldn't wait LOL! I had to do some shootin. I bought the choke was thinkin maybe it would do better. My buddy has one in his Remington 870 26".
I guess I should wait til it's warmer and try again. Yeah I plan on gettin the JellyHead as soon as I can find one in stock locally. I bought the tru-glo on-sale so I'm not out to much.
You wouldn't happen to have a JH for sale would ya Mike LOL!
