Title: Browning Gold mount?
Post by: CW on February 19, 2014, 10:11:32 PM
I have a browning gold NWTF with the factory drilled receiver that I am going to put a fastfire 2 on but I don't know what base to use. Will the 336 work?   :help:

336 base will only work if you drill another hole.  I had one drilled in front of the final factory hole.  Works great, but if you do it, get a gunsmith that you trust to drill and tap the hole.

My browning base I had for my maxus was for a gold/BPS n I couldn't mount my red dot due to the so acing on the browning mount. I found out that a Remington 7600 rifle base matched perfectly to the front n back screw holes in my all purpose maxus. I'm guessing the gold is the same. I also got the tactical base so I had more slots to choose from.

Johnny, what screws did you use for that base.  Did you use different screws or the ones for the Browning base.  Also, how does the contour of that base match up to the receiver. I have struggled to find a good base for my maxus too and thought I would make my own from a blank rail.  I found proper screws for the Maxus, they are 8x36 btw.  Also welcome aboard.
