I have an older 23" Remington 870 supermag. I've been shooting Winchester 3.5" Extended Range Hevi #6 for the last few years through a .665 Jellyhead but we all know those are no longer. I've tried the 3" hevi-shot #6s in the past but the pattern wasn't that great. Anyhow, thinking about going back and giving lead a try. I've always been a fan of #5's for some reason.
Anybody got a choke that has worked well for lead 5's?
I plan on giving the JellyHead a try, but need a backup plan in case....
I shot lead 5's for years through a GT 665 out of an 1187 with a 23" barrel....worked like a champ.
Jellyhead .665 with Winchester 3.5-2-5's is what I shoot in both of my super mags. 100-120 in ten at 40.
TruGlow SSX or have William make ya a choke!
I've read a lot of posts and many seem to be using the .665 range
I shoot the .662 Hevi-choke. I tried it against the .655 Kicks GT and got nearly identical #s but the .662 produced a much more even pattern.
#s
.662= 175
.655=171
Try a Jellyhead .660. :OGturkeyhead:
