Title: Franchi Intensity
Post by: kuli on February 18, 2014, 01:21:34 PM
Long time lurker, first time poster.  This site is great!  I have recently acquired a new Franchi Intensity 3.5.  Nashville was good to me!  :you_rock: To say I'm excited about it would be an understatement.  I plan on breaking it in on some big ol gobblers this spring.  I've used my Benelli Nova 3.5 with a tightwad choke while running some Hevi #6's through it with pretty good success.  I know that the tightwad would fit the Franchi, but I am just asking for some opinions on what choke would be ideal for this set up.  I plan on sticking with the Hevi 3.5 #6's.

I've tried to research and do my homework, but with the Intensity being new, there hasn't been a treasure trove of information on them yet. Thank y'all in advance, and I hope your spring mornings are filled with gobbles in your face and spittin and drummin so close that you can feel it in your chest!  :smiley-patriotic-flagwaver-an

:welcomeOG:   I use to own a Franchi I-12 it was a really great shooting gun!!!  I shot a SumToy .650 with GREAT results.  Those Franchi's have a tighter bore so you can get away with a little tighter choke.  A BIG CONGRATS on you new gun!!!  Hope you kill a pile of birds with it!!!  :icon_thumright:

Rob Roberts 655 or SumToy 650 are great ways to start

Welcome to Old Gobbler.  I currently don't own a Franchi but grew up shooting quail with the old 48AL's with a 24" barrel in a 12 ga. and later owned a 920 3.5" gun.

I think several members had good luck with the Hevi shot brand choke last season as well as the ones mentioned above.

As others have already stated your gun will most likely favor .650-.655 chokes.

Have a great season!

I sent my intensity to rob roberts last week, I will post some photos as well as a review as soon as I get it back. Hopefully there will be a couple constriction/ shell options.
