On Saturday morning Doris slipped in the shower and was badly injured. If you know her, you know that she's very tough and never likes to admit that she's hurt.
She hit her head and ribs very hard. Hard enough that when I learned of the injury, we sought professional help. It was bad. She had a severe contusion to her forehead and rib cage area.
The professionals examined her and did not believe that she had a concussion, gave her ice packs to apply to her forehead and advised that I keep an eye on her and ask her to refrain from strenous activities.
I did my best to do that but it was difficult. Since we've been home, we've consulted with our family medical docotor and I'm trying to keep her from overexerting herself. She's also supposed to keep her cognitavie skills to a minimum.
Doris is the toughest person I know. I've seen her endure some very severe pain and never admit that it hurt at all. She's a stoic.
This could have been much worse that it was but frankly, it's very bad.
Your thoughts and prayers will be appreciated.
Thank you,
Clark

Prayers sent for her speedy recovery
Prayers sent, Clark. Here's to a speedy recovery.
Prayers sent and hope she is better soon.
Clark, God Bless both of you. We will keep the both of you in our Prayers. Lee :jesus-cross:
First of all, I'd like to thank each of you for your expressions of concern and prayers for Doris and apologize for not thanking each of you personally.
Fortunately, no symptoms of more serious injury have developed. She is still very sore, the ribs hurt her a lot and still has a pretty large knot on the left sided of her forehead.
Some of the discoloration on her forehead has lightened in color and some of the swelling around that area has subsided. She still has discolored areas around her eyes and some swelling in her left cheek.
When I really think about the fall she must have taken, I realize how much worse it could have been and I'm thankful, that while this is bad, it could have been much more serious.
She's tough but when she sneezes, I see here wince. It appears now to be a matter of time taking its course.
Again, thank you so much and please keep her in your thoughts and prayeres.
Thanks,
Clark
Good to hear Clark. Hope her recovery goes well
Sorry to hear of her injuries. Glad to find out that there isn't anything more severe, and that she is on the mend. Hopefully she'll be better soon!!
It's good to here she's doing better. I took a fall down a flight of stairs a year and half ago. One thing I found out then
; the older you get, the longer it takes to heal up.
That's good news. :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:
Glad she's doing better. God Bless
Great to hear that she is improving Clark. We will continue to cover both of you in prayer.

Hope all goes well with Her. Praying for yall both.
Glad to hear she's on the mend! Now you can tell her "the old gray mare ain't what she used to be", but then she might get mad and you wouldn't see her for a few days......or at least until the swelling went down around your eyes :z-dizzy: In all seriousness continued prayers for both of you!!
Hope she's gonna be OK. Was good to meet you both at Nashville.
