Title: Best ceramic and copper
Post by: Onpoint on February 15, 2014, 11:45:56 PM
I'm going to get a ceramic and copper call before this season. Who makes the best affordable ceramic and copper? I'm wanting a good soft call in the ceramic. I was originally thinking about having the same guy make both calls but then I thought if it'd be better I'll order from 2 different call makers.  I do want the ceramic to play really soft though.

Spring Allure makes a good one in both. For ceramic, try Houndstooth or Stumpy. M,Yingling makes a killer copper pot that is easy to run. He has several sound files posted on here. Ricky with Spring Allure has some YouTube videos of his ceramic and copper calls. Lyle(Houndstooth) and Stumpy(Dominator) will run calls over the phone for you. All three are great guys and make some good calls.

What's the prices on the ceramics and copper from these guys? Money's kinda tight, been off work since December 23. I might would trade my long trice Osage aluminum for a copper and ceramic though.

No such thing as the "Best" call, lots of folks make very nice sounding and affordable calls. But what you like another may not, just personal preference.

I've owned Mikes copper and it's top notch for sure you won't be disappointed in it. I haven't fooled with a ton of ceramics but I did play with houndstooths at the show this weekend and It was my fav ceramic I used at the entire show
