Title: Fastfire mount question
Post by: Otdrzman on February 11, 2014, 09:48:20 PM
I am thinking of getting a fastfire 3 for my 835. If I get one that has the picatinny mount, is it possible to  remove the mount and replace it with the Burris 336 mount? Im guessing it will work but wanted to be sure first. Thanks

Whats the difference between the two? I'm a little confused with all of the different base options. Why is the included picatinny mount passed over for the 336 mount?

With the 336 base the fast fire screws directly into it. With a picatinny mount you have to use the picatinny base and acre it into the mount so it will sit higher

Much lower profile so it sits closer to the receiver which helps to keep cheek weld. Very clean looking to.

Probably due to the fact that not all receivers will match the hole pattern of the 336 base. Easier to get a picatinny base for your gun than matching one very specific hole pattern. The mossbergs hole pattern will match up with the 336 base. Not sure which other guns do.
