What would be a good wood and sound board?

I have a Lightsout that is a Shedua pot with glass sound board. For me, the Dad's Charcoal laminate and Monkeywood strikers run very well on it.

I make most of mine out of osage, maple, and cocobola, but I've made them out of almost everything.  Each callmaker will have woods that work best for him.  I use glass or slate soundboards.  If there's anything I can help you out with, just shoot me a PM.

Here's a soundfile of a copper over slate in a padauk pot that I made recently.

the lighter woods ill run a slate sound board under the copper and harder woods glass
But can make them from bout any type wood ,,, Ive made a good many with the cast cactus blanks that sound good ,but don't have access to any at the moment
but if some one asks for the wood I like the best sound in a copper call its ash wood its just a good med. hard wood that got lots nice tones to it

Osage/ copper/ slate (double sided call)
I've lost count of the birds take from mine. Contact ole Pappy about one. Be careful though, he's a little touchy....

I make them with mostly Copper over Glass or Copper over Slate. Harder Wood Pots seem to work best, but I have made them with all kinds of wood!
