I wear a leafy camo jacket, sometimes I include the facemask and hat. I do not wear the pants or gloves.

I am looking at getting some this year. I was just wondering if I should get two of the jackets... One that has more brown for early season and one with more green for late season... Not sure Cabelas has some on sale for 49.99 in their new zone woodlands camo. Bass pro also has one in MO obsession for 49.99... I wanted something with a hood on it and both of those have hoods on them.

I go with regular pants and leafy jacket and leafy headgear.  Last season I got a Kill Suit from all predator calls and it's the bomb.  I usually only wear the top but it alone works great.

I have been wearing this stuff for years, and love it. Usually just the top, but when it is hot will wear top and bottom with base pants. I have tried shorts under, but not the tick protection I prefer. I have shot Turkeys sitting in the open with no cover in front of me. If you Don't move you are just a Bush to a Turkey.

I've actually looked at it alot!  But have always wondered how it works in thick cover and around briars?   Here in the Appalachian mountains I pass through thick cover alot and of course briars especially those nasty green briars.   How does it hold up in that junk?  Just curious!

God Bless

I have never used it, but am considering buying some myself. One of my hunting buddies swears by it.

I personally think it makes a difference. I wear pants and jacket but the briars are pretty rough on it.

i prefer it for no other reason then it is light weight and i can wear shorts and a tshirt under it to stay cool.  I don't know how much it really makes a difference to a turkey but id say it would be a slight advantage at a minimum.

My opinion on leafy suits though are if you are going to get one then spend the money on a decent one. The $35 full suit ones usually don't last very long

I got the lightweight camo/leafy mesh outfit from cabelas last season. Used it all the time to hunt in & hike in. Was great for keeping the mosquitos off as well as camo that breathes.

Sitka ESW pants, and different jackets, here in Ohio Turkey Season starts off complelty barren like winter and you would want a real tree camo jacket as for mid to late deer season and you end the season with same pants but leafy jacket or anything that has brighter greens in it camo wise. It is a compressed season both weather and foliage wise.

I wear the ASAT 3d leafy top and bottom. It works well, and I like the fact I can wear whatever I want underneath it. Heavier clothes for cooler weather, or t shirts and shorts for hot weather.
The ends of the fabric get fuzzy after a couple of years of busting brush, but it seems to be holding up pretty well.....except to barb wire :)

I have one set that I have used spring and fall for at least 20 years. It came with the top, bottom, head net and mittens but I just wear the top and bottom and use another head net and gloves.

I don't believe that I've ever spooked a turkey as long as I do my part and sit still and in the shade when possible. I also believe that the natural movement of the leaves allows you to blend in when the wind is blowing things around you. I've had all kinds of birds and animals come unbelievably close to me when wearing this outfit.

As another poster said, "If you Don't move you are just a Bush to a Turkey." Of course, I'm always a Bush to a turkey.

Thanks,
Clark

I have a complete suit of the Whitewater Creek Real Leaf and been using it for 5 seasons now.  I am convinced it really does make a difference.

If you going to wear a non leafy Turkey vest over the top is it really worth the money?  The only leafy part that would protrude is the sleeves.

I like it because I can wear it in the mornings over my blue jeans and work shirt. When I get done hunting I can pull it off and go to work with out the hassle of changing my clothes.

Which is why I bought some leafy material strips meant to be used on a treestand and sewed it onto my vest.  Took a few hours work but now the vest blends into the suit.  In my picture above I have the vest on.

I've used a leafy top for a while now and love it. Dont get me wrong, I like that they have the leafy look and break up your outline but the main reason I started wearing it is because I can just put in over a tshirt and it's breathable/ keeps me cool.  I get hot in regular cotton long sleeve stuff so I usually do a dry fit or under armor shirt and a leafy top and just go with it.

The pants seem to get hung up on brush way too easy for my taste. More trouble than they are worth IMO>

Gt the leafy suit at Wing Supply that someone posted up.  Leave one stock, hit the other with some green spray paint.  I painted mine last year, worked out great.

Unless you are Rollin down the hi way in jeans and a white t-shirt and see a yard bird strutting around on your property.  With a leafy suit you are 30 seconds from making a move on him.

I bought a mesh leafy pant/jacket combo, and sewed it onto the inners from my old Bug Tamer suit. Now I have a leafy Bug Tamer that looks better than the one they sell. I also use a leafy headnet and hat. I know it helps fool the turkeys, but with that said, I've also killed turks with just regular camo as well.

I wear a leafy suit.  I am convinced it does help to keep you concealed.  It has to breakup your outline more than not having it.  Is it necessary?  Probably not but it doesn't hurt and as others have said it is lightweight and can go over jeans and a T-shirt.

When moving thru thick understory, I keep my leafy suit rolled up stowed in my vest. Since mine is a zipper hooded top and elastic cuff pants, I can slip it on in a pinch if I strike a bird and want to set up. Briers will tear them up quick.
