Howdy,

I've got a benelli SN in apg camo with a 26" barrel. As far as I can tell it is not drilled and tapped. The only mounting systems I've come across for it are the Burris speed bead and the saddle mounts. The speed bead is kinda pricey, and the saddle mounts I've heard are poor quality. Does anybody know of any other methods for mounting a scope on one?

I had a weaver cantilever mount on mine last year and it works great. Might be worth a look.

You can have your SN drilled and tapped. You just need to use a gunsmith that has extensive experience with drilling and tapping that gun.

I had one done several years ago. The receiver has about 1/4" of plastic that's over the steel skeleton. It must be drilled deeply enough to get into the steel and tap it. John Mann did mine, not his first, and he's done many over the years.

Yes it will work.  You need long screws and get down into the steel.  I would also run a light weight sight on it also. They put less pressure on the mounts. 

when its all said and done the speed bead option would be close to the same price. I run one on my SBE2 and it is very nice.  It is a neat sight mounting option and paired with a burris FF2 or FF3 it is a heck of a deal!
