Anyone tried one of these out? Looks interesting:

Have not but have been looking at it with interest. I did contact Tru-Glo to ask if they plan to sell a camo version and was told that they do not. I use their other open red dot sights and to me this addresses the two issues I have with it. By moving the battery compartment outside of the sight frame it should be less cumbersome to replace batteries. And the hood over the lens should reduce or eleminate the occasional reflections you get on the lens under bright conditions.
I'm interested in this also. Saw it today at a local Sporting goods store. The price was $99.00 with the mount and has a low profile which a like a lot. I would like to know more about it before buying one. The Burris, I'm sure, is a lot better quality and I'm leaning that way, but this Tru- Brite has me wondering. Has anybody heard anything about this optic.
Were you able to handle it? If so - how did the various reticles look? What about the class on it - was it pretty clear? Also - is it made out of metal or some type of plastic material?

It was in the package and wasn't able to get a real close look at everything. I appears to be all metal. I have been searching the web for reviews but nothing yet. Cheapest I found was around $89.00.
This came off a Japanese website of all things. No guarantee I guess that these are the reticals it will be sold with in the US, but it may be.

here you go:http://www.midwesthuntersoutlet.com $89.99 Cheaper Than Dirt, has it for around $80.00
I just ordered one from swfa.com so I can give a report on it when it arrives. They price matched 110% on the best price I had found which was $75.00. The main thing I like about this design is the hood. I hate the reflex type sites with nothing to keep the glare off the lens.
it looks very intreging kinda like the mueller, a cheaper version of the burris but clearly not in its class.
does anyone know if it is Waterproof and fogproof... or resistent.. or nothing at all
also do they have any info on how long the battery should last, thats one of the major reasons for liking the burris is know that that battery is gonna last a long time.. all those extra redicals and colors prolly drain more juice
IF i had money and mutiple rigs i get one and the burris i plan on gettting and compare and review but i can barely afford the burris
From the Truglo website here are the "specs":
(I like the fact that it has a lifetime warranty, however the water resistant and shock resistant feature is concerning). When I get it I will probably do a battery test to see what the lifespan of a battery is with it on its lowest brightness.
NEW! TRU•BRITE™ OPEN RED•DOT SIGHT
2 choices of reticle color for contrast against any target / background.
4-reticle choices for accurate targeting in any shooting condition.
Adjustable rheostat for brightness control.
Lightweight / compact design.
Unlimited eye relief.
Water and shock resistant.
Click windage and elevation adjustment.
Wide field of view.
24x34mm window for ultra-fast target acquisition.
Anti-reflection coating on target side.
Parallax free from 30 yards.
Integrated Weaver-style mounting system.
Battery included (3V-CR2032).
Lifetime Limited Warranty.
Resistant is concerning... Proof I like proof
like the design, could be a good value... Or a bust
It will be here tomorrow and I'll be shooting with it on Sunday. Will report after the shooting session.
The sight seems to be constructed pretty well. The glass is really clear. It is indeed a metal housing. Time will tell how well it takes the abuse of repeated recoil of a 3" magnum turkey load. Time afield will also tell how "water resistant" it is. (Wish it was waterproof). I'm thinking about leaving my Truglo adjustable sights on in case I have to pull this optic off in the field. They sit just above the B-Square so I could still use them in case of emergency. If I do decide to take it off, I'll put a Truglo fiber optic front sight that rides down low to the rib since I could still sight under the B-Square if necessary.

Good looking sight, but the "shock resistant" tag would worry me. I would only run shock proof.
Mag turkey loads show no mercy.
That worries me to somewhat - if it dies I'll replace it with a Quick Shot.
Sent a couple questions to Truglo over the weekend asking them just what was meant by "shock resistant" and "water resistant" and this is what they returned:
"They are tested to a recoil up to a .50caliber. They are Water resistant and not submersible. Rain would not be a problem."
Finally got to shoot my gun today with the new optic. Dialed it into the center of a 12"x18" sheet of paper from 25 yds using some light dove loads. Moved back to 35 yards and used some Winchester HV 3" 1 3/4 oz #5 shot loads to dial it in with a magnum turkey load - it was shooting high with the hotter loads. Once I dialed it in I took 3 last shots from 40 yds - one with Winchester HV 3" 1 3/4 oz #5 (138 hits in 10" circle), one with Hevishot 3" 2oz #7 (204 hits in 10" circle), one with Hevishot 3" 2oz Magnum Blend (209 hits in 10" circle). I'll be loaded with the Magnum Blends come next Saturday morning.
How'd you like the sight after shooting with it?
Good field of view, clear sight picture? How are the reticals
? Bright enough are the dots and circles clear or fuzzy
appreciate the review and insight on the new sight
Very clear sight picture with good field of view. The sight just disappears when looking through it. Shot it with both eyes open and with one closed. The reticles are not fuzzy at all - good and crisp. I shot with the sights on the second level of brightness since it was overcast yesterday. Even on its lowest setting the dot could be seen.
What is involved in mounting this on a SBE2? What do I need?
You will need a one piece Weaver or preferably Picatinny rail that fits the top of your receiver and the receiver will need to be drilled and tapped by a gunsmith if it did not come from the factory drilled and tapped. Then the sight will mount directly to the rail.

Swamp runner,Here is what you need and is the correct mount for your SBEII
Weaver 93 -AT 7/8" width multi slotted Part # 48339
Call 1-866-788-7386 the rail is 24.88 shipped to your door I believe.
This is the "New" version and is multi slotted for more adjustment features and it comes with the correct size screws for mounting as well.
Yes the mueller or the truglo will fit perfect on this rail, this is the exact set up I have besides I chose the matching realtree APG Truglo because it sets lower on the base than the mueller and I'm glad I did because I do not have to pull my cheak off the stock to aim and shoot or modify the stock comb riser!
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the info.
Thanks guys. I got this thing a week ago and absolutely love it. I've waxed two with it, and I can't imagine not having it. Deadly, I tell ya.

Hey thanks. I may still get one. Where is the cheapest place to buy them?
Again thanks for posting this here. One quick question before I buy. How many mounting screws are there on the bracket that mounts to the Weaver style base? I see 2 in the picture above. Is that correct? A guy on ebay told me 1 he thought but doesn't want to open the box to find out so it keeps the item new in box. I want 2 screws if I buy it.
One more question-why are the screws in the bracket out of line from each other?
I got my questions answered by Mark at Native Outdoors. This guy is awesome to deal with. And they had the cheapest price I have seen. I got it for $83.94 shipped via Fed Express in 2 days.

So.....what would make someone choose this sight over a Mueller Quick Shot? I'm gonna get SOMETHING for my new Mossy 935, but I'm still unsure which one I want. One thing I've noticed from these pics is that I'm not a big fan of the adjustment knob sticking off the side of the Tru-glo compared to the Mueller's cleaner looking FOV. Small problem I know, but I did notice it. I've noticed, as some have mentioned, that the Tru-Glo would probably do better in a glare causing situation, but I'm gonna be hunting in the dark woods 90% of the time so I'm wondering if I should consider that aspect or not? I'm a TOTAL ROOKIE when it comes to red-dots/reflex sights.
Jug head iwould suggest the muller it papers to be better.
