Title: Wood duck call for a locator
Post by: Thecowboy on January 29, 2014, 11:51:34 PM
Last turkey season I hunted around a swamp and found that a wood duck call is a great locator call. Has anybody else tried this I'm going to give it another go this year hope it pans out for me

No, but I'd give it a try! I hunt near the area I duck hunt

I have not tried it but I am not surprised it works. I used to carry goose call and have located gobblers quite a few times with it. I even carried a train whistle on a lease about a mile from a railroad and it worked MANY times.

Good idea, you can also take your woodie call and holler like a peacock. Turkeys HATE peacocks and will fire off when they hear one.
