Title: 870/FFIII mount question
Post by: shuey270 on January 29, 2014, 03:41:14 PM
I have an 870 super-mag, B-square mount, with a FFIII on it. I want to have the gun drilled and tapped. I haer alot about the 336 base. Do I buy a weaver 336 base and have my gun tapped for that base so the pic mount that I have will work?

You need the Burris FF mount for the marlin 336

I already have the pic mount so I guess the best thing to do is get a weaver 870 base and have it drilled for that.

I'm not sure if this is the correct one. I'm wondering as well. I believe the fastfire III's included base should mount right to the 336 base.

Jim Ward of Warbird Turkey Calls here on the forum used to sell them.  They only fit the Fast Fire II, not the III.  You would have to check with Jim and see if he has anymore.

Think it's gobbler74  ;D

He only had a few left last year...

Told me that he had no plans to make one for the FF III, but I hope he changes his mind...

Curious if you guys know what gunsmiths are charging these days per hole to dill and tap a receiver?
Really would don't want to go with a over the reciever type mount but drilling and tapping can get expensive.

Check with Sumtoy.  He drilled & tapped my 870 for me.  Nice man to deal with.

good price for 2 holes. the weaver bases have 4 holes and i charge 12.50 per hole.im basing my price mainly on weaver bases but prices would be different for other applications.
