Title: Browning Gold Hunter 12 gauge
Post by: SCDieselDawg on January 27, 2014, 12:52:30 PM
A friend I my dads is wanting to trade his Browning Gold Hunter for one of my deer rifles. I know that on average Browning makes pretty good shotguns. But I have no clue about the Golds! For those have experience with them, fill me in on what's good or bad. How much are they worth? Any information is greatly appreciated!

I have owned a NWTF Browning Gold 12 ga. for thirteen yesrs. Its my primary turkey gun but have used it to hunt ducks also. I use a Indian Creek .665 choke and Hevi Shot 6 and 7s, and get awesome patterns at 40 yds. I've never had any problems with it. It has cycled every shell from dove loads to 3.5" turkey loads flawlessly.

Great gun!  Patterns are usually awesome and they use invector plus tubes.  They are a little heavy and clunky but they are solid guns.  Depending on model they are around 600 used.

That's what I've been hearing. Looks like I'm going to pass.

I bought one back in like 1999 strictly for turkey hunting.  I later bought a 2002(I believe) model Moss 835 for turkey hunting and later sold the Browning Gold 3.5 Semi.  It simply would not shoot with the 835.
