My diamondwood striker I got from Wendall at lights out has been amazing. I also have an Oak striker from Woodhaven calls that sounds great on almost all surfaces. What's your guys favorite Striker? Doesn't matter for what kind of surface you use it on. I'm lookin to get another one this year and just looking for some ideas. Thanks!

Couldn't agree more
Knight and Hale, years ago, had their "Black Magic" striker. That thing plays on everything!!
Harold Fowler and no particular one, they all play great
Dewey Johnson Dad's purpleheart
Yingling, Torman and Fowler work for me.
Denny
I carry two: The first is a hand whittled osage by a gentleman from West Virginia, and the other I whittled from maple.
Wendell's dymondwood gets my vote too :icon_thumright:

Mr. Fowler makes a great striker no doubt. Several of his strikers stay in my vest.

I also agree!!
Pink Ivory ...... :you_rock:
Woodhavens oak flared tip is my go to striker and the other is a dymondwood I turned myself.
Blackwood med weight small flared and med hvy head on a fiberglass for wet work.
I couldn't carry just one but i have two favorites that I used 85% of last year.. hooks yellowheart and halloran mushroom tip purpleheart
90 % of the time I run one of my fiber rod strikers then a diamond wood ,,, and steves hollow bell black locust striker
Dymondwood for me. :icon_thumright:
Whatever sounds best on the call I'm using. Padauk and osage are pretty universal though.
SNAKEWOOD
I run 3-4 different d-wood Lights Out strikers + I always have the goofy Primos Cuttin' Striker with me...
mudhen
An old HS Rosewood, one of my snakewood and or diamondwood
I've got a custom striker with a custom call that I like, and I also use an HS Strut Power Stik made of ipe Brazilian hardwood. Least that's how its described. For those wet mornings, I've got another HS Strut called The Master, its a carbon fiber tip with a mahogany rod.

That would be a tie for me. A dogwood from West Augusta and a Morado from Silvers calls.
Any one of these.
Black Locust, Dymondwood, Snakewood, Bloodwood or African Blackwood.

I don't have a goto striker because I have 3 that work best on three different surfaces, A Yingling on my slate, Steve Torman Ipe on my glass and Lights Out dymond wood on my copper pot.
Lightsout agatewood dymond wood for everything!!!!
I have 2 hands down for my slates, red wood in a corn cob, and willow in a corn cob. For my glass calls hands down maple in a corn cob. All three of these strikers are at least 30 years old. I have been trying for years to get Dad to make me 3 more as close to them as he can get them, but that has not happened yet. I have been very lucky that I have not lost one of them.

I prefer the straight tip laminated birch. The oak is also good. My fave is Primos triple 7 laminated hardwood. Weighted perfectly for me.
Orangewood or Grapefruit Wood...runs great on anything
A West Augusta Dogwood has been involved in the death of several gobblers for me.
Dymondwood for sure. I have a lights out 1 piece and a halloran 2 piece. Both work great on all surfaces. 2nd choice would be a lights out persimmon or the primos lucky striker.
Thanks for all the replies guys. There's so many options to choose from lol.
Just get one of each! Then you'll have it covered!
My favorite is a Jet Slate style striker my Great Granpaw whittled out of Black Gum with his pocket knife about 60-75 years ago.....it's been handed down over the years & responsible for alot of turkeys going to Heaven.
That one would be very special Tank. It would be hard to hunt with for fear of losing it but also hard to leave on the shelf as your Great Granpaw is now walking with you on every hunt.

do you make these??
My go to is a Lyman Tulipwood. It just flat out runs any pot I put it to.
If I was to pick a striker that I didn't make I'd have to say my fowler yellow heart

Like above Primos Triple 7. I have several new in package for backups. As stated just weighted perfectly with good bite. Also like the straight tip laminated birch Woodhaven strike 3. Dad's monkey wood. Torman Dymondwiod. Lyman coco and Snakewood.

Fowler Snakewood and Mystery Wood with Osage Top.
I would pick Osage, bloodwood, and Yingling fiber rod during wet weather. Sinclair Osage is hard to beat
Sinclair bloodwood
My favorite is a custom laminated striker made by Roger Decker of Papaw's Custom Calls.
It is made from Walnut, Ebony, Osage and Goncola Alves with a flared tip.
I'm going with Lyman bloodwood

Big fan of my Lyman Ipe striker
Don't have ONE favorite for all calls but I do tend to have a favorite for each of my calls. IF I had to pick just one to hunt with though, it'd be a Dad's Purpleheart.
Lyman snakewood , Lyman dymondwood and Yingling bloodwood are my favorites.

LoL ! Looks familiar . I will give you 30$ for that pile of miscellaneous strikers to help you free up your clutter :funnyturkey:
Macassar ebony . made by Sandlapper game calls in South Carolina. Don't know if they still build them . if I loose that one , a grown man is gona cry ! But any Macassar is black magic in my hands. Gona have to get a 1/4 inch one made to 8 + inches maybe a Fowler....
Tops in my pile of sticks, hickory Torman and some other real good ones. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180612/44cbfc9000f7832e32da555ac3baea3d.jpg)
