Title: Any experience with .410???
Post by: Spurs on January 25, 2014, 12:46:16 PM
Anyone have any experience with a .410?   My son is 8 1/2 and he killed his first deer this year with a .222, now he says he wants to try turkey hunting.  I know that some people say to let them shoot low brass out of a 20 gauge, but I was wondering if anyone had done any testing w/in 20 yards with a smaller bore.  I would love to do it myself, but I pipeline and may not get a chance to do any testing of my own.  Odds are that my dad will be taking him and he will only have time to let him shoot it 10-15 times prior to hunting.  Any help will be appreciated.

Check the .410 sub-forum.

My nephew killed his first with a .410 last spring.  Shot 3" 7.5's out of a fixed full choke.  Had to keep the shot under ~15 yards.
