Title: Load/.choke suggestion, A391 Xtrema
Post by: Stillbroke on January 18, 2014, 07:16:55 PM
Sorry if I come off as lazy but I would appreciate a good place to start. I have a Xtrema2 with a factory full, and I also bought a HS Strut .685 undertaker on clearance last year. It seems to shoot pretty well, sorry no numbers on shot/pattern count. What have y'all found to be a good combo as far as load/choke. Any help would be great. I'd like to start shooting now so I'm not rushing when March rolls around.

You want a hevi shot and hevi shot 3.5 #7's. I am averaging over 310 in a 10 inch circle @ 40 yards with my extrema.

Thanks for the info. From looking I guess Hevi Shot only offers on diameter choke tube so just buy the turkey choke and some #7s and I'll see what that produces. Just curious, have you shot any of the combo shells like 4x6's out of the Hevi shot tube.

Yes I tried the mag blends through that choke as well. They were good but not nearly as impressive as the 7's

I used a Rhino 660 and hevi 3.5 6's with great results took a lot of birds with that combo. I imagine the hevi choke would work great or a pure gold

A lot of it is what shell you want to shoot.  The Mag Blend and Win Long Beard likes something small. (650 rang).  Now If you going with the 6's or 7's you can jump up to 665 rang. :anim_25:
