Yesterday the top for my new hunting rig that I plan on giving a lot of critters their last ride in came in & was put on. With my son getting older & wanting to hunt out of state with me, so I think this will serve us well. I plan on getting a DAC mid-size truck cap tent for this rig & a good foam mattress or a Truck AirBedz.
For years I would sleep in the front seat of the Bowtie Inn but I'm not as young anymore & my body can't take it. It will be nice to have options for roosting birds the night before that's cheap, easy & not far from where I want to hunt.
So does anyone else uses their rig as an over night camper, what's your set up? If so, please let's hear or see them.

Did it for many years..I'm afraid to try it now. LOL.
Definitely get an air matress..almost like sleeping in your own bed.
Gman
Air mattress in the bed of the truck is a great way to camp, I have an older Tacoma crew cab with the 5' bed and unless you're a dwarf there is NO WAY you'll be comfortable

I have a 2013 dbl cab short bed tacoma although I've never camped in it before I don't think I could.

Sure you could if you did it right :icon_thumright: Even though I'm 6' & my truck bed is 60"....it will work. The DAC tent I'm getting sets up with using tailgate down & cap door up. That gives me 80" from the one end of the bed to the end of the tailgate to lay out in comfort.

The Truck Bedz mattress (if I went that way) would fit my bed & actually cover up to 78" I'm just not sure if I could get away with using a thick foam camping mat instead seeing it would be quicker to roll up & go in the morning.
