Title: Which Choke for Benelli Vinci?
Post by: BP1992 on January 12, 2014, 12:32:57 AM
What are some good choke tubes for a Benelli Vinci?  I'll be shooting Hevi-13 #6s.

I have been shooting a .650 sumtoy with  the 3'magblends from my vinci.Very tight patterns with big numbers in the 10" for a 3" shell. All about Shooting (Clark) has done a lot of testing with the vinci and the hevi 6's and 7's I'm sure he can recommend a good choke to try with that load.Might want to post this in the turkey gun forum as you will get more feed back there. You have a lot of good chokes available for the crio barrel benelli's.Check out the turkey gun pattern pic forum and you can see a lot of different load and choke combos, might help ya get a good baseline for what you want patternwise from your gun.

I bought a TruGlo SSX .643 from Clark at All About Shooting that I shoot in a Benelli SBE II with the 3 inch Hevi 13 in #6 or #7 and it does a very impressive job.  It does as good or better than anything else I tried, as a non-custom, off the shelf product.  It wasn't expensive in the world of choke tubes either.  It beat out several other brands of chokes and will continue to be my go to turkey hunting choke. Good luck, I hope you find one that works great for you.

I've had a Vinci for quite some time now and have tried a variety of chokes through it over time. Several did well. The one that works best in my gun, a 28" model, is the SSX along with 3" Hevi-13 shells with 2 oz. of #6 shot. The Vinci has less muzzle jump than any gun I shoot and it's been the one that I've used for turkeys for the last few seasons.

Best of luck with your gun.

Thanks,
Clark
