For starters, I am 64 now but have been turkey hunting for 50 years . :OGturkeyhead:
Wow..quite a feat RAJ
56 here..been chasin longbeards since the late sixties.
I can remember when harvesting one bird a season was an accomplishment.
Gman
I will be 63 in June. Started to get serious about turkey hunting after taking my first gobbler in 1991.Prior to that I hunted some starting in 79 but can't say I was serious about it.Still have my first call I bought in 79.
Whew! I'm glad to know that I am not the oldest around here!
Just turned 62 (Did I hear someone say "Social Security checks"?) :happy0064: First turkey hunt (fall) was 1959. First spring hunt was '65, I think,....first year NM held a spring season.
I guess that means I have been turkey hunting for 54 years!
....Dayyam, I'm getting to be an old fart!
53 I think. Killed my first spring gobbler 47 years ago. Killed another one after that.
:57 and started turkey hunting in 1969.

Just because some of us have been doing it a while doesn't mean we know anything about it. Heck, look at GobbleNut.

I am 58 years of age and started hunting turkeys in the spring of 1974. So it being 40 years and all, that makes this my Ruby anniversary season! :z-dizzy: :help:
Still don't get no respect, no respect at all.

I'll be 60 on Jan. 23rd, and I'm not exactly lookin' forward to it! Unbelievable..
I didn't start turkey hunting until the mid 90's because we had no turkeys to hunt. So... I am one of the older dudes, but probably have fewer kills than most.. That's something I can live with..This being 60 thing is what bothers the crap out of me!! ;D

Very true. I'll be there sooner than later.
Way more experience in the woods than I have in birthdays.
58 started hunting at about 10 years old with my Dad ,he's gone now but I have another hunting buddy ,my 7 YO Grand Daughter is going with me now.
I'm 56...started hunting turkeys in the late 70's and started killing them in the early 80's. Hoping I have 20-30 more springs in me to keep bangin heads :gobble:
Only 65. Started hunting turkeys when I started bow hunting deer in 1968. Started getting serious about hunting turkeys when they started showing up on the family farm in the early to mid 90's.
Started tagging behind my dad 47 years ago, trying to learn how to Turkey hunt but not carring a gun. Started carring a gun and tagging along, trying to kill a Turkey 46 years ago. Killed my first gobbler 44 years ago. I am not old I just fill old, I am 54.

Well, in that case, I'm less than a year away from my third 21st birthday! ...I'm feeling better about my old, decrepit state already! Hey StinkyP, you really know how to make us old guys feel better about ourselves!
i used to think I was in the younger group of guys on here at 51 years of age now, but looks like I am in the majority, them young broncs got lots to learn, and i learn something every time i go, been hunting since I was old enough for Daddy to throw me in there with him, but seriously turkey hunting since 89, when i was a mere 27 years old, i killed one the first year, and to put it in the words of one of the masters, 'i killed another one after that'
A few years younger and a lot less turkey experience that many here. I didn't hunt them till 2000 when the population around here became established enough.
But I caught the addiction REAL fast. :z-dizzy:
I didn't even KNOW anyone who hunted turkeys till I bought a video, a book, two calls and went after them. I got off to a fast start and have been pretty lucky at it.
Been hunting turkeys since 1969 and I'm 67.
Wow you guys are a bumch of old farts.... I'm 49 and kill #1 in 1976, last spring # 211 died.
64 and this will be my 51st spring season
I am 55 and been chasing these crazy birds for about 38 years now
