For those of you who kee kee on a pot style call, What kind of striker do you prefer and use???
That's a hard question to answer! If I'm hunting then it's whatever striker I'm running the call with. For competition calling I use whatever runs the smoothest on the surface I'm using, preferably a turned striker, they sound cleaner. As for which woods, that depends on how you play a call, what works for me may not work for you.
While I appreciate your response I really didn't ask what striker I should use I ask what YOU guys use. I am experimenting with several strikers and was just curious what everybody else uses.
I agree with everything you said and please don't take this as me being a smartellic, that is NOT my intent.
I was just curious as to what everybody else is using.
Thanks!
I carry two sets of 4 laminated strikers, Woodhaven Strike 3 flare tips in birch, oak, and blackbird ebony, and my fourth is the Primos Kee Kee striker. If I want to do kee kee runs I pull out the Primos.

For a production striker the Primos Kee Kee Striker is good!
