I used the rear mount only to mount my FF3 on SBE2 and it worked perfect. I'm I missing something on the benefits of the marlin 336 base. I just wanted to use the pre drilled holes in my gun. Let me know if there are any major advantages to using the 336.

The 336 base will be the lowest profile base
That's a good setup you have.The 336 marlin is the lowest profile mount for the ff2/3, but you will have to either redrill the base or receiver for it to fit the benelli.If you go this route I recommend having the mount redrilled if possible,as the benelli receivers are extremely hard and difficult to drill and tap from what I've read.
