I should probably know this, but......Do you guys put any type of bore cleaner etc on your bore snake before you run it through or do you just...run it through dry. The directions don't really say if you should or not. THANKS!
I run mine through dry, about 2-3 times between shots.
Shane
I put some on the tuft every now and then.
Oil in the bore will effect your pattern. I only oil the bore for storage in the off season and use a standard cleaning kit for that. I leave the bore snake dry for use during the season.
I put a drop on the brush
Mine is dry.
I scrub with a wet brush for cleaning.
Bore snake at the range keeps it clean longer.
Wad residue comes out better when it is hot.
I run them dry - have one for every shotgun, rifle and pistol caliber that I own.

:agreed:
I run a dry 10ga snake through my 12ga bbls about 3 times between shots. The 1st two passes knock out crud and the 3rd is usually pretty clean. I like the 10ga size as it's alittle snug and at least makes me feel like it's doing a better job :D
Dry here too. I was amazed at how much stuff they get out the first time I used one. I used one on my muzzleloading shotgun and it was unreal how good it looked inside after a couple of passes.
