Title: Bushnell Banner with regular crosshair?????

    Hi guys i had a question, I acquired a free Bushnell Banner 2x7 scope it has the standard heavy duplex crosshairs do you think this would be ok on a turkey gun?? Its a matte finish compact scope.

It would probably be fine, but there are a couple of things to consider before putting it on your gun.
First, make sure you have at least 3"plus on eye relief. Those magnum rounds are not forgiving if you are tucked in tight without enough eye relief. Trust me. I speak from experience. 4" plus is better.
Secondly, be careful of magnification and field of view with scopes on turkey guns. High magnification can give you a false sense of security that a bird is closer than they appear. Leave it on 2X max. The other problem with scopes is a limited field of view. Very hard to see what is happening around the bird you are hunting.
These are the reasons I went from a scope to a red dot on turkey guns. IMO, the downside to scopes outweigh the upside.
However, the decision is really up to you. Just really watch the eye relief!

Yes, very good advise. I also like the red dot over the scope for the reasons mentioned earlier. If that scope doesn't have enough eye relief, you are asking for a knot or worse on your head.  :z-dizzy:
