Title: Truglo open red dot

This is the sight I bought on sale, has anyone used this sight with turkey loads? I am wondering if it will hold up against my 3.5" loads

My experience with Truglo and 3.5 mag turkey loads has never been a good one. They may be ok with 3" loads, or on 20 ga turkey guns, but you run a 3.5 down the pipe, and those sights don't hold up well, at least in my experience.

I shoot a Mossberg 835 topped with a Burris FFIII. Love it. Best red dot in it's class.

I can't tell you that the glass won't pop out of yours the first time you shoot it.  But I can tell you I have the camo version mounted on two 835's and have been firing 3.5" shells thru both guns for 5 years now without a single problem.

For what it's worth I haven't heard many good things about the Truglo optics on heavy recoiling turkey guns.

I've used one with 3.5's for the past two years with zero problems

UPDATE: 1st time shooting this red dot. I shot at 15 yds with bird shot, then went to 40 yds and shot 4 3.5" turkey loads... 3 hevishot and 1 turkey thug.  The dot seems to be holding up well. lens is still in!
