Title: Drying turkey feet?
Post by: va wingbone on December 15, 2013, 11:45:54 AM
For years I've just cut the spurs off and let the section dry out before displaying, but for the last couple of years I've had ideas of lamps, coffee table legs etc...so I've formed the feet the I wanted and covered the open joint with borax. They dry out but bugs get in em and make them look like termite riddled wood! What can I do to prevent this?

Borax usually kils the bugs. You might try using a little Sevin 5 dust. Pesticide from Ortho.I think the chemical name is Glyphosate.
