Title: My Alberta trip 2013
Post by: perrysbirds on November 13, 2013, 01:45:59 PM
Well I just got back from Alberta and from what happened on last years hunt expectations were high for this years hunt.
However this year was a lot different than last years hunt.
IMO we got our butts kicked.
The weather on the first few days was so warm I could hunt with a T-shirt on and on the last few days things got colder and better.
The crops on the field were different and where last years hunt you could see 25-30 deer in the field......this year it was 3 or 4.....
However personally I did see many great animals but nothing worth putting on my wall.
I saw a bit of everything.....elk,whitetails,mulies...yotes seemed to be on every second field.... and even a couple of the guys had a cougar come out to the edge of a field one evening...
It really is a cool place to hunt and the weather can change in a heartbeat out there..
I will say that my 2012 hunt will be tough to beat but the guys who had moose tags did very well......No monster moose but a good bull elk was killed..
Overall I loved the trip...got to see family and cant wait to do it again next year...
