When "cold calling" in the fall how often do you call and do you call soft or loud?
Depends, if I have an idea gobblers are in the area I only do a gobbler yelp or two, maybe a hoarse cluck every 15 -20 minutes until something responds, then I try to match him call for call.
for mixed flocks and birds of the year, I'll lost call every 5-10 mins until I get a response and again I'll try to match the bird call for call.
