Title: Choke for 12 gauge Rem 1187??
Post by: dogwood on March 10, 2011, 04:14:03 PM
I need your advice for my sons' 1187 he will be toting for the first time this spring.   The shells he will be using are the Hevi Mag blends in 3". Need to burn these up first! I'd like to try a Jellyhead or Pure Gold. Which constriction would be best for the  Blends???  Thanks fellas! :icon_thumright:

i think 670 is what most are shooting but my 1187 supermag likes IC 660

http://www.gunpartscorp.com/catalog/Detail.aspx?pid=956890&filter=ventilator&catid=0

I just ordered one of these through the advice of some on here. You cant beat the price. If you call during their regular business hours and go through the process as if you are ordering they will provide you with a coupon code, shipping will only be a dollar. Good luck

I didn't know you could still buy a ventilator. For $17 it is definately worth a try.

pure gold has been the best for the blends in My Nova and my 870.

I'd recommend the Jellyhead .660 or .665 choke.

I shoot an 870 which takes the same chokes as the 11-87. My best patterns are with a Primos Jellyhead .665 and my spare is a TruGlo Gobble Stopper Extreme .665. Hope this helps.
