I owned a old 2 3/4" model years ago. Great shooting gun built off the browning a5 long recoil action. They are aluminum receiver and super light. But recoil is heavy. I dove hunted with mine and wanted no part of magnum shells in it lol. But all in all a very reliable great shooting gun.

I'd like to be of help to you but have no experience with that gun. If you want to know how they hold up, I'd recommend that you call Mann & Son Sporting Goods (since 1946) at 618.357.2911 and ask for Dustin. He can answer any questions that you might have about that gun.

Thanks,
Clark

My father had one in 20 ga and used it on one of his regular wing shooting trips to south and Central America --they would go through cases and cases of ammo on these hunts and kill thousands of doves and pigeons -- he said  it's a well built gun , but the 20 ga model is just over 5.5 pounds , he said it kicked the hell out of him , and he was a big guy -

For a quail gun I bet it's awesome

Had a 28 guage.  Shot doves with it , so a few cases of shells. Wonderfully light , finish on blueing and wood held up well.  keep it oiled a little and ran like a champ with Win. AA, Fiocchi, and estates.
Don't remember any recoil problems, but south America  dove shoots are another story.
