Title: Seize the Day
Post by: allaboutshooting on September 19, 2013, 06:53:52 PM

Every day is a bonus. That's really the way I've started to look at each and every day. This morning I went to our woods to look for paw paws for Doris. She likes them as much as any deer, racoon or possum. We have at least 3 groves in our woods but all of them were bare. I did however find a very deep dusting spopt that was full of turkey feathers.

I kept jumping deer all over the woods. I'd sprayed myself with Deep Woods Off and they smelled me from a long way off, I think.

If there was a market for poison ivy...

At any rate, it was good to be back in the woods and just enjoying the day.

I appreciate so much all of your thoughts, PMs, emails and most of all your prayers through this difficult time for us.

Thanks,
Clark

Now you're talking!
Glad to see you back up and out wandering the woods again.
Keep healing, you'll be 100% soon I'm sure.

Glad to see that you are up and about. In the rat race that we live in, we sometimes forget to take time to stop and smell the roses. Life is a very fragile thing. We must embrace every day like it could be our last..

You, my friend, got a good whiff of the roses, today..That is a good thing!!

Clark, I'm glad to hear that you were up to a nice walk in the woods, saw critters and got in some scouting. Sounds like progress, and a good day!! :icon_thumright:

Thank you all very much. I'm very thankful for my progress, the positive thoughts and prayers of many of you. I try to remember every day just how fortunate I am to be able to enjoy doing what I do each day. I'm now back to cutting the grass and doing most of the things I've done all my life. Tonight, I'm cooking some venison backstrap on the grill.

Thanks,
Clark

Any day you get to enjoy what the creator has made is a great day indeed. Can't speak for the paw paws  but looks like a bumper year for the poison ivy here too.

There's something about time spent in the woods.  It relieves mental stress very well.

Amen to that. Something spiritual about the woods.
