First year hunting with a scope coming up. I am a nut case when it comes to keeping my guns clean with no surface rust. I put a scope mount on my 870 this summer and was wondering if you all take off the mount after a hunter were there is moisture involved. I am fearing that water may get trapped between the scope mount and the gun and cause surface rust issues. I do not want to take off the scope mount and see my 870 got ravaged with the stuff.
I always spray gun oil under the mount before I attach it. For that very reason.
I rubbed some Lubriplate 130-A Grease under my saddle mount. This is the same grease I use on my Mini-30. It will hold up better than oil.
I USE PURE TEFLON , I GET IT AT LOWES ..... WORKS REAL GOOD :icon_thumright:
