Here is what happened, my neighbor and his son was shooting clay pigeons in their back yard, i grabbed my 11-87 turkey gun and walked over just to mess around a little. I fired 8 of their winchester expert target shells #7 steel before i looked at the box and realised what i just did. I unscrewed the choke its a .660 primos tight wad lead only, it came out fine i checked the barrel all looks fine except e few light colored lines in the choke tube where the shot rubbed it comeing out i guess. Did i ruin the choke in any way?? Has anyone else done this with any negative effects? I belive the 7 shot compresses a little more through a tight choke than larger shot, woult i be correct in assuming this?
Just check it to see if it split or anything like that. I would think with #7's not much harm.
Given that it was #7 target load steel I would suspect no harm period. Many lead only chokes have had tungsten in the form of Fed HW , Hevi-shot, etc. with heavy turkey loads shot through them.
Like Wm. said though, check it out for any cracks or barrel bulge.
