Title: Who makes some of the best custom box call makers out there

Roughneck, it depends on what type of box you're talking about.

For short boxes, I like Albert Paul, Jeff McKamey, and Irving Whitt
For longboxes, I like Russell Beard
For henboxes, I like Richard Hudson
For turpins, Billy Buice

  It's all a matter of opinion and one's ear but for me its D. Marlin Watkins. He makes what he calls a 'fiddle paddle'  and a 'fiddle box', his callers have a sound all their own and he is one of the best around.         :OGturkeyhead:

Roughneck,I guess I read too much into it!
I agree,with Mark.
I would add Tim Bullock for one side box calls too.
I only own one Turpin from Shadetree,and haven't played it yet.
A lot depends,on how much time and money you are willing to spend. Good luck on your quest.
