Title: Austy trumpets
Post by: savduck on July 03, 2013, 09:16:35 PM
Fellas, i picked up two trumpets from Austy. These are some sweet talking little instruments. They sound great and the craftmanship is excellent. Ill post up some pictures later, but if yall are looking for some easier running yelpers put Austys name in the hat

I figured I would save Del the trouble of having to take some pictures of the calls that I did for him. He has enough to do keeping up with the kids!!
The first call is an Osage Orange with 2 screw in interchangeable Delrin mouth pieces.  Each mouth piece comes with its own rubber lip stop so they are quick to change and ready to go in just a few seconds.   The mouth piece that is in the call has a 5/64" hole and the other has a 1/16" hole.

The second call is Canarywood with a press fit Delrin mouth piece with a 5/64" hole Delrin feral and a rubber lip stop.   These calls are what I consider a hunting call, nothing flashy about them, hence the black Delrin feral rather than brass, copper or something else shiny.

This is a picture of the calls side by side.

Thanks for the look.

Austy makes some sweet trumpets.
Highly recommend them to all and especially beginners because they are so easy to run.
Trust me, as a greenhorn when it comes to running trumpets even I can get turkey sounds out of Austy's trumpets!

All good looking calls and I agree with callmakerman that the osage really stands out.   :icon_thumright:
