I'm interested on what everyone else is feeding the deer. Thanks
Trophy Rock right now
150 grain core-loks. ;D Evolved harvest throw & grow. I believe it has clover, brassica and a few other things i'm not sure of. I would have to look at a bag. I don't plant until august.
They seem to like trophy rock really well but I undecided if I'm gong to still use it after I picked it up one day and it had sharp pieces of salt or something in it. I had piece actually stick in my hand. I can just imagine what it would do to a deers tounge. But they really like it. I've tried the throw n grow its really easy to plant and the deer love it.
Buck forage oats.
Never tried the oats. I'm more the less looking for something to us in a feeder. I've got so much clover planted they ain't gonna even put a dent in it.
It is illegal to feed any game in NY.

Trophy Rock right now
Go check out tractor supply, they have mineral blocks for feeding Cows, virtuually the same content as the trophy rock but twice as big for half the price. The deer tore them up on my dads property last year.
Muzzy. :funnyturkey: seriously though its illegal here.
Trace Mineral Block ! :icon_thumright:
Corn, corn and more corn... ;D
I have been blessed to get access to 2 small properties, 1 - 80 acres in Ozark Mtns. and the other 120 acres at the base of the Ouachita Mtns. On the private properties I can use feed. I just looked through my pics from last year of the deer from August through November that I had on trail camera... what a season! At the 2 bait sites I had a minimum of 24 different deer on camera. Between dad and I we took 4 deer off the sites. They should be covered up with doe that will need thinning this year. I have my out for 2 particular bucks that I hope to see again as well.
I have thought about mixing in some pellet feed that will give some protein along with the corn. Corn is best as far as not dissolving if it rains or getting wet and swelling and clogging a feeder. That said, it has very little nutritional value for the animals. It's more like feeding them candy. Almost everybody likes candy, but it isn't nutritious. I was going to look at a pellet form of goat feed. I buy my corn in bulk from a farmer's coop, where I can also buy bulk pellet feed.
If you're talking minerals, we use the livestock trace mineral in the link below.
We add 1 pack of jello mix to about 6-8 lbs and the deer absolutely destroy it!

Corn
Corn, corn, & corn! Big bucks don't come to eat much, but they follow their girlfriends.
hot lead
Tried big and J this year, don't know how good it's working yet, black magic worked well to get a lot of pics at a mineral site
Redmond's mineral salt, mined out of the same mine as trophy rock only its ground up.
And 50 lbs for $10!
Whole corn.
In my area i see no need to feed them since they have corn, bean, and winter wheat to eat. In my opinion its a waste of money and adds the disturbance factor of going in and out to feed them that turn the big boys to go nocturnal.
Lightfield slugs
If your just looking for something to put in a feeder, then feed them a mixture of different grains, oats wheat, corn, minerals, it gives them what they need. If your looking for something to plant like food plots, then a mixture of grains works well there also, corn is one of the worst things to plant. It's only good for them when it reaches a certain dryness content during that year, it's great cover for them to hide in, but not too good for them. Deer are browsers, so your habitat improvement will be more beneficial to them all year.
I totally agree with WillowRidgeCalls, I have an acre clover and chicory plot and they are in it constantly but after hinge cutting travel corridors the last few months I have noticed how many deer just browse the corridor nibbling on buds and leaves. Scoot
clover and a little mineral salt this time of year
Soybeans and broadheads!
6 clover plots about an acre each. Got one plot of soybeans, cow peas and several small grains mixed in. They are flat wearing them out. Right now. As far as mineral licks, I make my own using soda ash, rock salt, and mineral salt mixed together.
Thanks guys I have been feeding them corn and put out a trophy rock and some sportsman choice mineral stuff also have a pretty decent food plot a mixture of clover it a couple of acres they . Haven't seen any in food plot yet . I've got a few pics of a nice 3 yr old 8 point atleast that's my guess and a lot of smaller bucks and does at my corn feeder. The other day when I went to check it there was a doe that would let me get within 15 yds of her she just kept on eating it was pretty awesome experience. At my other corn feeder that has the trophy rock and other mineral supplements. And a watering hole I made. I don't got a cam on it but yesterday evening there were two small bucks that weren't very scared of me either they let me get around 50 yds or so before they walked off when I got back to the truck they were already back there. I have no idea whats up with these deer this year usually they run to the next county when they see a human. I think there starting to get tamed or something.
Haven't had a single turkey pic yet :'(
