Title: Question about Burris FF mounting???
Post by: Ridge Rooster on June 17, 2013, 06:25:11 AM
Asked this question on several different threads and have not got an exact answer, and still confused, so I thought I would just start a new topic and ask the question so that I can order the right thing. I am getting my SBE1 drilled/tapped for mounting a Burris FF3, and I would like to use the Burris 336 mount and a Protector. When looking for the base I see that there are several different options and unsure what I need. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Also gathered that I may need longer screws for mounting all of it together with the protector and all?

Thanks

I think if you read through these two threads it will clear some things up.

I think you want the FF3 no-base option and the Burris predrilled Marlin 336 base.   I think the only way currently to get a guard for the FF3/336 combo is to get the guard with the Picatinny mount and remove the mount (one screw).   The guard goes between the FF3 and the 336 base and will require some longer 6-48 screws than come with the FF3.  Note that the guard made by Gobbler74 mentioned in the first thread is for the FF2, not the FF3.
