Title: Woodhaven real hen box calls
Post by: bigbird on June 07, 2013, 06:16:42 PM
I'm looking at getting a new box call for next season and I'm stuck on the Woodhaven box call! Can anybody out there tell me if it's worth the $75 advertise price? I've got a couple but I just want something new and different! Any input would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

They are a very good sounding production box, for less you can get an SS customs field box and know it was hand crafted and tuned as well as have about 15-20 choices in wood combo. Not trying to change your mind but I was very happy when I went with Al over moderately priced box from a store.

If you can talk Mike out of the one his daughter runs in competition, you will have a good one. I tried to talk her out of it to no avail.      ;D

i have the cherry and i have a friend that says it is the only call he has ever heard that sounds like a real hen everytime i use it, birds like it too. the value if any call is up to the user and i have more expensive calls that don't sound near as good.  i wish i had got one of those limited cedar and purpleheart boxes but i waited to long!

My buddy has the cherry and it sounds great too.  If I didn't have enough box calls already, I would probably own one.

they are pretty good sometimes though I tend to find like all production calls one may be a lil better than the other
