Here is the mount I used on my first PA Public Land gobbler. I like this mount. You can order it out of Vandykes taxidermy for around 70 dollars. A cheaper alternative for a full mount, and a little be better than just the wooden fan holder. Worked out just fine for my first bird.

It is a Plastic body with a foam taxidermy painted head, with eyes. Installation of the fan is easy and the beard just plops into an insert. I think I may build a wooden beard holder for futur birds to put underneath. The white center feathers in my birds fan were pretty uniques, and being that it is my first mount i sprung for the little more exquisite mount.

THe colors on the head blurred together in this picture but they are very pronounced. I will try and post a close up later.

Nice mount. Congrats on your first bird. What did you do with spurs. Would love to see those too.
