Was flipping through a turkey country magazine the other day and found a website called callkits.com
They have some neat stuff just like brooksside... I was just wondring if anyone had ever heard or used them before? Thanks
I took a look at their website and found that they are also known as "custom sawing". When I first started making calls, I tried my hand at box calls. I ordered some box call lid stock from them and was pleased with what I received. Being more of a "do-it-yourself" kind of guy, I used the pieces I ordered more as a pattern to work from than actual working stock.
I noticed that in their kits they include liquid nails glue. If you choose to go with their parts, I would suggest using plumbers goop instead of the liquid nails. After over 2,000 pot calls, I would not use anything else.
The business is owned by a Christian family. They used to include a New Testament in each order.
I have bought quite a bit of wood from them in the past. I was always pleased with what I got and they always shipped very fast. Great people to deal with and the New Testament in every order was a nice touch and spoke of the kind of people your dealing with.
I have bought wood from them but no call kits. They are great people to deal with.
I have purchased wood from them and when a peice of cedar had a rotten spot in the middle they replaced it , just sent me two new peices, that's good service !
