Title: 12ga 1.5oz #6 choke
Post by: howl on May 24, 2013, 01:28:55 PM
I picked up a six pound Franchi O/U for the wife. It looks like Carlsons and Trulock have turkey chokes for it. Trulock goes down to .640. That got me to thinking about going tight on a 1.5oz load of Hevi sixes. How about it?

The SSX is available for that gun and should work quite well for you with those shells. It has unique internal geometry as well as the .643 exit diameter.

I've had several readers who've put that choke in both barrels and others who've put a more open choke in one and the SSX in the other.

Thanks,
Clark

If I had an O&U, I'd go Open and Tight.

I used to have an O&U and i had a mad max in one barrel and the factory full in the other. It looked kinda silly but it was a very fine turkey gun.
